Chloe Stewart

Survivor

Hi there! My name is Chloe and I am a sepsis survivor. After a failed back surgery in March of 2022, I was admitted to the hospital just 72 hours later with sepsis and later turned kidney failure. (Sepsis and Surgery, Sepsis and Kidney Failure) I thought the hospital stay was the hardest part, but I was so wrong! The road to recovery was long and I am proud to say I made it this far today.

After being released, I was given a wound vac and spent my Monday Wednesday and Fridays and the wound clinic and Tuesday, Thursdays, and the occasional Saturday at physical therapy. Fast forward, and I was given the opportunity to get a spinal stimulator implanted in my back due to the damage caused (and that has been so life changing!). Although September is sepsis awareness month, it is something I still am dealing with year round to this day. It is important for everyone to learn the signs for not only themselves but their loved ones, because I almost was not as lucky as I could have been given the situation.
