Ryan Lines

Survivor

Ryan was a active, happy one year old perfect little boy. A month after his birthday Ryan woke up with a snotty nose. Throughout the day he still seemed his happy self. By that afternoon he was having slight temperatures and was starting to not be himself, he was very clingy and wimping, quiet dazed and also wouldn’t weight bear which he had been walking for a few months.

We took him to the hospital to be released with that he probably had a virus and just teething. The next morning we noticed Ryan still wasn’t improving so went back and demanded more tests. Before we knew it we were flown out on a plane to nearest major city as our little boy had declined so fast. After going into cardiac arrest and having CPR for 10 minutes we didn’t know what Ryan’s future looked like. Thankfully he pulled through. It turned out Ryan had a strep A infection which has developed into serve septic shock, due to this the blood oxygen rushed to his major organ to help repair them, unfortunately his limbs suffered and we are currently about to have surgery to have both of his lower legs amputated, all his fingertips and some fingers. (Sepsis and Amputations, Sepsis and Group A Streptococcus, Sepsis and Septic Shock)

We still have a very long journey ahead but so thankful our little boy is still here with us. Always trust your gut if you feel something isn’t right don’t take no for an answer
