Elizabeth Hopper

Survivor

I had pneumonia, type A. (Sepsis and Pneumonia) I had no idea. I was buying new flooring to install, and then the next day I fell ill.

I was given z-pack to treat a general bacterial infection. On Day 4 of the antibiotic, I went into septic shock. (Sepsis and Septic Shock) I was taken into the ER, and luckily they were able to identify the type A and hit it directly. I went through lactic acidosis and heart problems during sepsis.

Afterward, I went home, only to find I had contracted C-diff, so I had to go back to the hospital for another week for treatment. (Sepsis and C. Difficile) I am still tired, over a year later. I have trouble sleeping and am very anxious. Not sure if I will ever be back to “normal”. I am 45 years old.
