I am a three time sepsis survivor. The third time I had sepsis was the worst of the three and I went into septic shock. (Sepsis and Septic Shock)

I have several chronic illnesses so I have a central line and am on TPN so I’m at increased risk for a bloodstream infection. (Sepsis and Invasive Devices) November 2019 about 3am I woke up sweating profusely, shaking/shivering, confused, heart racing and when I took my temp it was 103.4. I woke up my mom and she called 911. I was rushed to the ER and they took blood cultures and I was put in the ICU. A few hours after arriving I went into septic shock. I spent almost three weeks in the hospital. I am very thankful to be alive today.
