Survivor

Three years ago I was diagnosed with septicemia. I suffered a long ICU admission. Suffered with great back pain that was misdiagnosed, osteomyelitis of t11. Respiratory failure renal failure, multiorgan. I was a practicing nurse up to day before my admission.

If it wasn’t for great doctor I had in infection control, I wouldn’t be writing this. My life has changed drastically. No longer able to practice nursing. My main complaint is fatigue and low motivation with great memory loss. My children were required to make all my decisions. It’s been an everyday battle since. Sometimes I wonder how and why I pulled through, most of all I wonder everyday how did this happen to me. No one can fully understand how I feel today because obviously I survived though inside did I really???

Also just wanted to add to this by saying my mom passed from septicemia and my aunt is in rehab post septic three years
