Shannon Preston

Survivor

My story started with a revision on a gastoplasty surgery 4/19/17. I was not bouncing back to normal and feeling like I had the flu coming on so, went to the E.R. (Sepsis and Surgery) The doctor wouldn’t give me the time of day, said I was low on potassium and my white count was elevated, and sent me home. That was on 5/14/17.

I continued to get worse, on 5/20/17. I returned to the E.R. I couldn’t breathe and felt very ill. Because of Dr. Susan Frayer, I am alive. She knew what I had. By this time I was in critical condition. I was sent to a bigger hospital. I had sepsis/septic shock. I lost my kidneys but after months of dialysis got them back. I had to learn to walk again, along with other medical issues.  I Am A Survivor !.
