Survivor

My husband and I decided we no longer wanted any more children. I went in on a Friday for a simple tubal and was released that evening with no issues. I felt great and had a great weekend with my family. Early Monday morning, I was shivering and my temperature was at 103 degrees. (Sepsis and Surgery) By noon, my husband rushed me to the ER and they immediately took me in and found me a room.

I was pumped with fluids and antibiotics while they tried to figure out what was wrong. I was shaking uncontrollably to the point my bones were aching. For 3 days, they tried to get my fever to break. I could not keep any food, liquid or medication down. The highest my temperature got was 106. I only recall bits and pieces of what happened. I did not even care if my children were in the room. I have no idea who even came to visit me. Finally the doctors discovered an infection around my cervix and e-coli in my blood stream. My uterus and its entirety had to be removed immediately. My mother remembers the doctors saying that if it was to stay in another day, I would not have made it. After 7 days total in the hospital I was finally able to to go home. Now, being a survivor, I feel I am not the same person I was before.
