Survivor

I was bitten by a cat a long 5 years ago and got an infection, which developed into cellulitis and then sepsis. (Sepsis and Cellulitis) I was discharged 5 days later and was told I had had an infection but it was taken care of. I didn’t know I had had sepsis until I requested my medical records.

Even then I wasn’t too concerned until the pain in my muscles and joints, the extreme fatigue, the loss of weight, the depression, and the mild cognitive impairment never went away. I am also having a difficult time finding a doctor to provide a diagnosis of PSS and a treatment plan. (Sepsis and Post-Sepsis Syndrome)  I feel like I am just not “sick” enough. I know I was fortunate and am thankful to have survived the initial infection but my life and my health has forever changed.
