Well it all started in April 2017 thinking I had the flu with severe pain in the middle of my abdomen. Through that week it had gotten so bad I thought it was gallstones.

My mom had taken me to ER and where they did an x-ray and blood work but everything came back normal. So over the next week I started experiencing extreme chills and shaking. At that time I had lost about 20 lbs no appetite, I was so thirsty all the time.

Well on May 12th my son came downstairs to find me shaking so bad and not being able to breathe. I was also delirious at the time. My husband phoned an ambulance and I was sent to a different hospital. While I was in emergency, my blood pressure spiked and my heart rate was 190. They had sent me for a CT scan in which they found a blood clot in portal vain in my liver and they also thought I had hepatitis.

Within hours of being in the ER, I was sent to ICU where they had to put me into a medical induced coma which I was in for 6 days. Finally the infectious disease doctor came and said I had sepsis which was caused by a bad tooth and UTI. (Sepsis and Dental Health, Sepsis and Urinary Tract Infections) My immune system got so weak because of working shift work and not sleeping enough and plus having 4 children. No wonder my immune system got weak!

I am now 5 months out of the hospital feeling good. I do have emotional days and I still have the blood clot but it has decreased in size which I guess is good the only thing I’m waiting for is what kind of damage it did to my liver!!! Liver appointment next week so scared ?
