Ciera Gomez

Survivor

On September 9, 2017, I was rushed by ambulance to the ER. I was in the ICU for 5 days. My final diagnosis was sepsis, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, hypercapnia, respiratory acidosis, increased ammonia levels, and elevated troponin. (Sepsis and Pneumonia) I basically was supposed to die.

I also had type 2 diabetes, on insulin and metformin, and severely obese at 280 lbs. (Sepsis and Diabetes) I got out of the hospital September 13 2017 and changed my life around! Lost 120 lbs on my own, no surgery. Got my A1C into the lower 4s and 5s and been off insulin and metformin since October 2017. I know I don’t want to end up In the hospital with sepsis ever again so i been taking great care of my health. Thank you for letting me share my success story.
