Christie Kitchens

Survivor

In November 2017, I was admitted to the hospital with a high fever and abdominal pain. The hospital misdiagnosed my problem during three different admissions, their hospitalist even telling me to “take a shower because everybody feels better with a shower.”

I ended up with a ruptured bowel, leading to losing many feet of intestine, a colostomy, and sepsis. (Sepsis and Perforated Bowel) I was in a coma for several days due to their negligence. I am now dealing with post sepsis syndrome and kidney failure, neuropathy, nightmares, fatigue, and other sepsis complications.
