Survivor

I am 70 year old female. I went in hospital for liver bile duct drain. (Sepsis and Surgery) Fairly routine procedure.

In recovery, I felt faint and called the nurse. I told her I thought it might be low blood sugar. She arrived quickly with a glucose monitor. I remember hearing “tachycardia,” “pulmonary embolism, x-ray” and the last thing I remember hearing was “give her MORPHINE.”

I woke up in ICU for five days. Thank God for the great nurses and doctors at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Florida! The nurse first in my room followed protocol to the “T,” and saved my life.

I left the hospital on the seventh day. It took six months to fully recover.
