6/29/19 I went to the hospital due to facial swelling. I was admitted to the ICU because I was diagnosed with a rare yet potentially deadly infection called Ludwigs angina (a rare skin infection that affects the floor of the mouth, underneath the tongue). (Sepsis and Bacterial Infections) Sometime around the first of July I had to be trached and put on life support, in a coma. I had surgery to remove necrotic tissue that night.

July 2nd I was diagnosed as septic. I was taken back to the OR on the 3rd for more necrotic tissue removal. They finally figured out I had a bad wisdom tooth, so the 5th I went back to the OR where they removed the tooth and cleaned out the tissue. While I was septic with the infection, I died twice. When I woke up I couldn’t talk or walk or write. But I refused to let anything stop me. My first day of PT, I couldn’t stand on my own, my knees buckled. I came home 7/25/19 it has been a rocky road. In the picture I was so swollen.
