Roxane Benoit

Survivor

I went through a severe case of sepsis and did have a hard time recovering from this horrible infection. I been having a hard time still recovering from the after effects, for instance a foot condition from being bedridden for almost a year.

I didn’t like staying in bed, due to this illness and forced myself out of bed, because I never liked being sick in bed. Also, I was sick as a small child very severely ill from kidney infections, in which I had extremely high fever and those infections continued, until high school and as an adult. My sepsis infection came this time from a bladder infection. (Sepsis and Urinary Tract Infections)

I am older and went through so much that I had a hard time recovering from this infection. I even had to go to physical therapy for my foot condition and been still having problems, with my left foot from being bedridden for many months to over a year now. I was never able to find one physical therapy clinic that had helped me gain my ability to walk correctly. I do not know why and it has been making me feel really bad that I am not back to my old life exactly the way I had been walking on my two feet, without the use of a cane or walker.

I am older and it has been hard on me, so hard I am still recovering in many ways. I am trying to recover, so I can find employment and that has been hard to do where I live, because I do not seem to be called to work. I been having a hard time in returning back to my old life. I am in need of a better home, better cars. It is so much for one person to do after recovering from a terrible infection like sepsis. I hope I can one day I can return to my old life very soon, because I am overdue being like my old self. thank you.
