Tribute

My mother was diagnosed with sepsis at the same hospital. Before arriving at the hospital, she was in extreme pain and very weak. She did not want to eat, she was vomiting and had respiratory problems due to other health conditions, which made her situation worse. I remember that she was still conscious and we had small periods of conversations and within everything she tried to give us a smile.

The next day in the afternoon when I returned to the hospital my mother was intubated. It was something very fast and traumatic. I had never heard the word sepsis, which for me was a very painful process. Her legs began to swell and her hands the same. Each time the days went by it was worse because her oxygenation was below normal by barely 18% and her legs and arms got worse until she finally had necrosis due to a blood infection, which triggered multiple organ failure.Recognizing symptoms early can save lives 💛
