Survivor

I was feeling great, teaching first graders on Friday, planting petunias on Saturday and on Sunday evening, I had pain in my right side that would not go away. I told my husband to take me to the ER. After running some tests and taking X-rays, the doctor told me that I needed to stay. He told me that it was pneumonia. (Sepsis and Pneumonia)

On Wednesday, I was being transported to another hospital for surgery on my right lung. After the surgery, I found out that I had sepsis. So, I was in the hospital for another 4 days. I was given antibiotics and told that I had a superbug-MRSA. (Sepsis and MRSA) When I got home, I spent many days on the couch or in bed. I was so weak and sick, I could hardly walk. Slowly, I regained strength and it took 3 months to get rid of the MRSA in my system. I have never been so sick in my life. I am a diabetic and 68 years old. (Sepsis and Diabetes) I consider it a miracle that I am still here!
