Hello , I’m a 52 year old woman who went to the ER on 4/23/25 for stomach pains. After a CT scan with contrast that makes you feel warm and like your peeing on yourself, they found I had a twisted hernia with the small bowel.

Went in for the surgery that night around 10:45pm. The next day I was in extreme pain so bad they did another CT scan and discovered I had air and something else going on in the incision site. Went back to the OR for a second surgery. On the first surgery, my intestines got nicked and this led to me developing sepsis. (Sepsis and Surgery)

They had to put me in a coma on a breathing machine and told my husband they didn’t know if I would make it. The 3rd surgery fixed the incision site but I spent one week in the medical ICU in a coma. When they woke me up I didn’t know what had happened or were I was at, just my name.

I spent another few days in medical ICU, then they finally moved me to a regular floor. I get tired very easil . I spent 10 days in the hospital all together. I’ve had several surgeries but nothing like this one. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.
