I am 26 years old and this year has been rough. July was my first round of sepsis, and yes I said first. I was in the hospital for a week from sepsis cause by a UTI of all things. (Sepsis and Urinary Tract Infections) The Saturday after getting out I ended up going into something called bladder retention, where you can not urinate on your own at all.

I waited until Tuesday when I gave in and called my urologist and a catheter had to be placed. This was back in July. August 30th I ended up getting back surgery and then September 15th was my second round of sepsis. I had went to my mom’s to spend the day and upon getting there, took a nap. When I woke up I felt completely horrible. I checked my temperature and sure enough had a fever of 103.2, ended up at the ER and yep, they admitted me.

My white blood cell count was over 22.0 which is higher than what it needed to be. I ran a fever a few night and then was fine without one. I was again admitted for a week with it antibiotics and then 2 weeks of oral antibiotics. I just finished those about a weeks or so ago and already have yet another UTI. I have at this point lost count of how many UTIs I have had since July up until now. Oh, and I am sick and tired of antibiotics at this point.
