Leanne. R. Mules

23-11-24 I had a face down fall in our house because I use a wheelie walker but inside I use walking stick. After that night I fell things got bad.
I woke up next morning with a very sore throat this was 24-11-24. The next day 25-11-24 when I woke up all my glands and right across under my throat were so sore hardly could swallow even water, I could eat only yoghurt. I decided to go to a local hospital waited 5 1/2 hours to see a doctor. I asked several times about getting antibiotics he simply said no, go home take a Panadol and rinse mouth out with warm salty water
I went shopping and when we came back I felt lethargic light headed and sleepy can’t even remember if we had tea. The next day I went to a hospital. That’s all I can remember till I woke up after 72 hours in intensive care.
My daughter came out to see me I was unresponsive and my nails were all blue. She asked my hubby what had been my condition earlier. He said hard to wake up and cranky. I told him to leave me alone to sleep. When he checked me about 4-30 -5 I was breathing deeper and having trouble breathing. He gave me mouth to mouth got a little better. They decided to ring an ambulance. When they got there they told my daughter and hubby I had severe septic shock and if I didn’t get to hospital I would be dead in 2 hours. We live 75 km from bigger hospital.
They put in the ambulance and I stopped breathing and my heart started to fail. They did what they had to and rang for a ambulance to meet them half way when we got there, a heart specialist got in back with me. When I got to hospital, my heart, lungs and kidneys all started failing. They put me on life support and two doctors and nurses told my hubby and daughter to say goodbye. They didn’t make it back but I did after seeing the light and God, I turned back to live.
There were lots of complications. I had pneumonia as well. I had a temperature of 102-104 for several days. I was on a drip for days. They also gave me antibiotics. I then had an allergic reaction. (Sepsis and Pneumonia)
They had to change antibiotics. These worked. I had other problems. Not being able to breathe without oxygen to help, tube fed for seven days. I had a line going to my heart for all the medications. Gradually after 10 days in intensive care unit, they moved me to a medical ward before I was discharged in a couple more days.
My first food was jelly, so yummy. Now I have got shoulder, leg, knee pain and my hands swell and ache. My heart is better, kidneys are recovering slowly. My hair if thinning so I had a hair cut, have short hair. I also have carpal tunnel in my left hand. Still get tired and have a rest nearly every day. I have been told I stare into space and repeat telling things more.
I KNOW IT WAS A VERY DRAMATIC SCARY TIME FOR MYSELF AND MY THREE CHILDREN
I WISH YOU ALL WHO HAVE SUFFERED WITH THIS A GOOD RECOVERY
