Tribute

My mother passed of sepsis on March 16, 2016. It is devastating. She would be alive today if she never went to the hospital. She had an infected gall bladder that needed to be removed. The first hospital surgeon refused to take it out. He felt it wasn’t bad enough. Unfortunately they kept my mom for three or so weeks doing nothing and she grew weak. We took her to a different hospital who then said she had an infected gall bladder. However at this point she had lost weight and was physically weak. They wanted her to get stronger.

At rehab her bladder was punctured and ignored by doctors, and urine filled her abdomen. Unfortunately tons of infection grew in there for a few weeks. Once discovered, it took two months to get rid of the infection and of course gall bladder surgery was again postponed. They did get rid of it then they sent her back to rehab when she wasn’t feeling well.

Another infection appeared. She contracted a hospital blood infection. (Sepsis and Healthcare-Acquired Infections) They blasted her with antibiotics. This damaged her kidneys etc. Things started shutting down. We took her home to die and she passed. She was a healthy strong woman. She should have never walked through those hospital doors. They just injured her and exposed her to tons of superbugs which killed her. She had several crazy errors happen too while in the hospital..it just stinks. I miss her soooo much.
