Tribute

My dad’s sepsis story started with a tiny burn on his foot, just the tiniest burn. (Sepsis and Burns) No one thought it was problematic at first until he started sleeping with his socks on, trying to hide it. He became feverish and sweaty and we made him go to the hospital.

He had sepsis with heart and brain involvement. He developed left ventricle endocarditis, and we thought that he would pass away immediately. (Sepsis and Bacterial Infections) Instead, he fought it for two years, enduring tooth extractions, amputations, and surgeries as doctors tried to fight the infection in his body. We lost him July 22nd.
