Gabriel Rojas

Tribute

Gabriel Rojas was a healthy 11-month-old baby boy. He was perfect in every sense. On Tuesday, June 12th, 2018 Gabriel began getting a fever that would go away with medicine. However, the fever would come back as soon as it wore off. I continued to manage the fever without alarm through Wednesday.

Gabriel showed no signs for concern, he ate normally, kept his food down and had regular wet diapers. On Thursday the 14th he woke up and was doing great, he no longer had a fever. He played and got along as always. By Thursday evening the fever came back, this time I also noticed a rash around his neck so we decided to take him to the hospital. We were sent home Friday morning and were told that he had bronchiolitis, something he had previously been hospitalized for in December. Unfortunately it was not bronchiolitis, it was Strep A. (Sepsis and Group A Streptococcus) On Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 8:01 am our baby was gone. Never did we imagine that we would lose our child to something we had never even heard of. We lost our Gabriel to sepsis.
