Don Brown

The day before Thanksgiving 2009 I came home from baby sitting to find my husband very sick with the flu. (Sepsis and Influenza) I called an ambulance because he was so sick he couldn’t walk.

On the second day in ICU, his legs turned black. They told me if he survived he would lose his legs. He died Dec. 4th, 2009. I was in shock. I don’t remember most of those . On the death certificate was the first time I saw anything about sepsis. I didn’t understand why he died until I started reading about it. I don’t think they treated him for sepsis until it was too late.
