Diane Carolan

Diane was diagnosed with a brain tumor January 2013. She died of sepsis April 2013. (Sepsis and Cancer) Once diagnosed with cancer, my mom immediately went into the hospital for a biopsy. They did scans and found a small spot near her ovary and asked that a biopsy be done near her intestines. What we suspect now is that the intestine was punctured during this procedure. (Sepsis and Perforated Bowel)

Within a month, my mom began complaining of abdominal pain. By March, she was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with a bladder infection. (Sepsis and Urinary Tract Infections) Within a week, she was in septic shock and ever recovered. She died in April without ever being tested for sepsis until it was too late.
