Amy Howse

Survivor

I’m a septic shock survivor! I’d been given antibiotics for a throat abscess and caught C. diff, which I hadn’t noticed any symptoms from until I developed a really high fever and my stomach started to swell. (Sepsis and C. Difficile) I had developed toxic megacolon which was causing septic shock, and my doctors thought I wouldn’t survive my operation. They told my mum and my partner to say goodbye. After I had my colon removed I was in an induced coma for 9 days, and my doctors say I made a miraculous recovery.
