Dianna Williams

Survivor

In August 2015 I developed a UTI, on a Monday. (Sepsis and Urinary Tract Infections) The doctor gave me Bactrim. On Friday of that week I passed out in my car. When I came to, I was in the emergency room of the hospital, I was told that I had went into septic shock.

At the time I arrived at the emergency room my temperature was 106. I spent 7 days in the hospital. I was 72 years old at that time. When I arrived at the emergency room I also had 10 very large blisters, some of them 4 inches long and 1/2 inch high.  The doctor thinks the blisters were caused by a reaction to the Bactrim.

Last year in April I lost all my hair (alopecia universalis).  Before sepsis, I went to the gym 5 days a week and walked 1 to 2 miles daily. It took me about 4 months after the incident in August to get my energy back. I am now walking 1 to 2 miles daily and going to the gym 5 days a week. The only issue I have now is if I sit down  to read I get very sleepy and fall asleep for a short period of time. I never had that problem before the incident. I have always been very healthy until last year.
