Sepsis and ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome) Added to Sepsis Alliance Site Content

San Diego – August 11, 2016 – Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a life-threatening lung condition, often caused by sepsis. It develops rapidly and drastically reduces the amount of oxygen your blood gets from your lungs.

To help people better understand the connection between ARDS and sepsis, Sepsis Alliance has added a section to its comprehensive Sepsis and…series, called Sepsis and ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome).

The information includes a brief description of how HAIs can develop, how they are treated, and what steps patients can take to reduce the risk of contracting such an infection.
