Shawn Swanson Johnson

Shawn Swanson Johnson, OTR/L and founder of Enhancing Skills for Life is an Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of upper limb loss rehabilitation experience. Her background includes clinical as well as teaching experience in upper-limb rehabilitation, working with the rehab teams at Walter Reed and Brooke Army Medical Centers, presenting at national and international conferences, and facilitating collaboration between prosthetists and therapists to improve outcomes for their patients. She has published a number of articles and chapters and is guest lecturer for the Orthotic and Prosthetic students at Baylor College of Medicine.  Shawn is currently serving on the Amputee Coalition’s Scientific and Medical Advisory Committee. She previously served on the board of directors for the U.S. National Member Society of the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (US-ISPO) for over 12 years. Shawn is the owner of SSJ Rehab Services, PLLC and chair of the Skills for Life Bilateral Upper Limb Loss Workshops.
