Amy Sprague

Dr. Amy Sprague, DNP, RN, ACNS-BC, CCRN has been a nurse for over 25 years. She has spent the majority of those  years in critical care but she has also assumed roles as an emergency room nurse, nurse auditor, PACU nurse, critical care CNS, manager in critical care, and house supervisor. Dr. Sprague was chairperson for her hospital’s sepsis committee. During this time, she worked with the Surviving Sepsis Campaign on their first collaborative on the Med/Surg floors. This 18-month collaborative was the first time the SSC took their sepsis initiatives to the wards. This work was published in the Journal of Hospital Medicine, titled “Implementation of a multicenter performance improvement program for early detection and treatment of severe sepsis in general medical–surgical wards”. She currently works for Franciscan Health as the Cardiovascular CNS and is an active member of the hospital’s sepsis committee. Dr. Sprague has spoken both locally and nationally on sepsis.
