I had felt rundown for months. Having 4 kids and working full time, I thought it was just par for the course. Then on Monday, I noticed a boil and even though I was not feeling well I went about my day. Then the next day I woke up with a 103 fever and sick. I went to the ER that day, thinking the boil was MRSA.

They gave me antibiotics and sent me home with instructions on how to drain the boil. I could barely walk let alone take care of my kids. The boil starting draining on that same Friday, but I was not getting any better. Then on Sunday, I went back to the ER, where the nurses kept saying I would get released soon.

I laid in severe pain and the doctor started me on morphine and and MRI on my stomach area and legs, since they felt like cottage cheese. After the MRI, I was started on Dilaudid for pain.

The doctor came and told me he had called a surgeon and they thought I had necrotizing fasciitis. Well it turns out all the bacteria was normal bacteria in my body, and it decided to try to kill me. (Sepsis and Bacterial Infections) The doctor says to this day I am lucky to be alive. If I had not gone back to the ER, I would have died the next day of sepsis.
