Marguerite Goin
Tribute

I received a phone call from my brother-in-law at 8:00 last night. He and my sister (age 63) had gone to dinner the previous night, at which time she felt ill and asked that they go home. Once home, she felt worse and began to throw up.

At 1:00 am he took her to the ER, where she was admitted to the hospital. She had been diagnosed with sepsis and was on IVs of fluids and antibiotics. He stayed with her the night and following day. She sent him home at 7:00 pm, after which he called me to let me know what was going on.

He was very distressed and very worried. I asked that he keep me posted on her condition and we said good night. An hour later, at 9:00 pm, he called back to tell me that my sister had died.

This all happened over a period of 26 hours. The speed in which this occurred shocked me as much as the death of my dear sister did.
