Sepsis Alliance Welcomes New Board and Advisory Board Members

July 6, 2020

New additions to the Sepsis Alliance Board of Directors and Advisory Board reinforce Sepsis Alliance’s commitment to improving sepsis awareness and care.

Sepsis Alliance is pleased to announce the addition of Theresa Brown to the Board of Directors and Stefan Willemsen to the Advisory Board.

Theresa Brown is a Consulting Partner at Armanino, LLP – the largest California-based CPA and Consulting Firm. She focuses on finding comprehensive solutions to the broad spectrum of challenges clients face around people, processes, and technology. Sepsis took her mother-in-law suddenly in 2019, prompting her desire to learn more. She was introduced to Sepsis Alliance where she will be able to channel her passion to educate others about sepsis, in particular the growing number of in-home caregivers.

“Sepsis Alliance was a valuable resource to me when we lost my mother-in-law and I look forward to helping propel Sepsis Alliance even further, to educate and comfort even more people,” said Theresa Brown.

Stefan Willemsen is a performance-driven executive leader with 20 years of experience in In Vitro Diagnostics and Life Science/Biotech Industries. Stefan most recently worked as President and CEO of bioMérieux Inc., where he led and directed commercial and marketing teams, manufacturing sites, and more across the Americas.

“My extensive experience in the sepsis industry will bring a new perspective to the Sepsis Alliance Advisory Board,” said Willemsen. “I look forward to working with the team and Advisory Board members to continue Sepsis Alliance’s progress in education and awareness.”

The Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing Sepsis Alliance’s activities and providing expert guidance. Similarly, the Advisory Board is made up of a variety of passionate individuals who provide advice and support to the organization. Both elements are integral to the success of Sepsis Alliance.

“We are grateful to Theresa and Stefan for offering their time and expertise around sepsis and business to Sepsis Alliance through these appointments,” said Thomas Heymann, President and Executive Director of Sepsis Alliance. “As we continue to grow, their contributions will accelerate and intensify our impact.”
