Sepsis Alliance Releases Groundbreaking New Report to Mark World Antimicrobial Awareness Week

November 17, 2023

Sepsis Alliance is pleased to release a new survey report: The Healthcare C-Suite AMR Market Report: What Executives Think About Rising Risks of Superbugs and the Next Pandemic, in honor of World Antimicrobial Awareness Week, November 18-24. The new research in this report, which was conducted by healthcare consultancy Sage Growth Partners, found that healthcare C-suite executives believe the threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is only growing worse and healthcare professionals are responsible for helping to solve the AMR problem.

The survey of 158 hospital healthcare C-suite executives found:

  • 90% of healthcare C-suite executives see AMR as threatening to society.
  • 88% of healthcare C-suite executives believe the AMR problem is getting worse.
  • 85% of healthcare C-suite executives are concerned that the problem may be increasing the potential of another pandemic.
  • Only 26% of hospitals grade themselves an “A” on their own AMR efforts.

Opinions on significant contributors to AMR, federal AMR policy opinions, and who is responsible for mitigating AMR are also addressed in the report.
