Sepsis Alliance Advocacy Training: Protecting Our Aging Population This Holiday Season
December 9 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Date: December 9, 2024
Time: 3 PM ET/12 PM PT
Description:
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a serious threat, particularly to those aged 65 and older. RSV has the potential to cause severe illness and even lead to sepsis. Health equity is essential in addressing the impact of RSV in older adults, ensuring that every individual—regardless of socioeconomic background or healthcare access—has the opportunity for effective prevention, timely diagnosis, and critical treatment.
During this one-hour training, Hillary Spangler, MD, will discuss the science of RSV and the importance of accessible vaccines for older adults. Panelists, including Sepsis Alliance founder Carl Flatley, DDS, MSD, and healthcare advocate Pat Posa RN, BSN, MSA, CCRN, FAAN, will focus on the role advocates can play in debating and supporting public policy related to vaccine access, RSV, infection, and sepsis.
By alerting your government officials to the urgent need for awareness on RSV prevention and vaccine access, you can amplify this message and bring attention to an issue affecting our seniors. Together, let’s make RSV prevention and health equity a public priority.
