Sepsis Heroes Honoree
Meet Captain Rom Duckworth, a 2015 Sepsis Hero
Captain Rom Duckworth was named a Sepsis Hero because of his tireless work in helping educate fellow emergency responders to the reality of sepsis, particularly sepsis in children. Rom developed a pediatric and sepsis training program, which he leads across the country.
A career fire Captain and paramedic EMS Coordinator, Rom is also an emergency services advocate, frequent speaker at national conferences, and a contributor to research, textbooks, and magazines on topics of emergency operations, leadership, and educational methodology.
He says that it was a complete surprise when he learned he was selected to receive the award. “It is an honor to be associated with an organization of the caliber of Sepsis Alliance and I am proud to know they feel that this work is helpful to victims of sepsis and their families.”
We are pleased to have Rom as a Sepsis Hero this year and we look forward to presenting the award to him and all of the other 2015 Sepsis Heroes at the 4th Annual Sepsis Heroes Gala.
Please join us at this year's event, which will be held on September 17, in New York City as part of Sepsis Awareness Month.
