Walkiria Jimenez-Loo

Walkiria Jimenez-Loo, MD, is an internal medicine physician with 15 years of experience as a hospitalist, caring for acutely ill patients. Her clinical work is driven by a deep commitment to improving outcomes for hospitalized patients and a personal connection to sepsis. Her mother’s death from the condition profoundly shaped her perspective and passion.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Jimenez-Loo has formal training in quality improvement methods, epidemiology, and community health education.

Dr. Jimenez-Loo earned her medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City and completed her residency at the Internal Medicine Training Program at Legacy Emanuel and Good Samaritan Hospitals in Portland, Oregon. Since then, she has practiced as a hospitalist in Colorado and Upstate New York. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and is a hospitalist at New York-Presbyterian Allen Hospital.
