Marci Atkison

Vice President of Development

Marci Atkison, CFRE, is the Vice President of Development at Sepsis Alliance. In this role, she leads fundraising strategy and execution for the organization, building relationships with donors to connect their passions and values to the Sepsis Alliance mission.

With nearly 20 years of experience in fundraising for health causes, Marci most recently served as Director of Philanthropy Operations and Services for Adventist Health, where she led enterprise-wide philanthropy operations for 29 hospitals across three states. Previously, Marci held leadership roles for community-based organizations, strenghtening public-private partnerships and securing funding that expanded critical services for vulnerable populations. A Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), she is a frequent presenter on fundraising best practices and has served in leadership roles with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).

Originally from the inland Northwest, Marci earned her M.A. in political science from San Diego State University. After several years in San Diego, Marci and her husband settled in the Bay Area, where they now live with their daughter.
