Sepsis and Healthcare-Acquired Infections Added to Sepsis Alliance Site Content

San Diego – December 28, 2015 – Healthcare-acquired infections (HAIs), infections that patients get while receiving care in a healthcare facility, not only complicate healing, but they can trigger sepsis and cause significant health problems.
To help people better understand the connection between HAIs and sepsis, Sepsis Alliance has added a section to its comprehensive Sepsis and… series, called Sepsis and Healthcare-Acquired Infections.
The information includes a brief description of how HAIs can develop, how they are treated, and what steps patients can take to reduce the risk of contracting such an infection.
