Sepsis Alliance Education Videos Recognized for Excellence by MarCom, Leading National Marketing Organization.

San Diego, California – Two of Sepsis Alliance’s recently released education videos have earned honors at the national level. MarCom, which honors excellence in marketing and communication, has recognized Sepsis 911 with a Gold Medal in the Medical video category. Additionally, MarCom recognized Sepsis and Children with an Honorable Mention in the Informational video category.
Sepsis 911 tells the inspirational story of sepsis survivor and quadruple amputee Sue Stull and her husband Jay. Before she became ill in August 2014, Sue was a healthy, active woman. She developed sepsis and her life changed drastically due to amputations to both of her arms below the elbows and both legs below the knees. The Sepsis 911 video is part of a Community Education Kit built to empower advocates to spread the word about sepsis in their local community. The kit also includes a presentation covering a complete overview of sepsis and the symptoms along with a leader script for the presentation, an event checklist, a quiz for attendees to test their knowledge on sepsis before and after the presentation, and promotional materials, including an event poster and press release.
Sepsis and Children tells the story of 8-year-old Michael Stolzenberg who developed sepsis from a cut that became infected, ultimately leading to a quadruple amputation of Michael’s arms and legs. The video features Niranjan “Tex” Kissoon, MD, FRCP(C), FAAP, FCCM, FACPE, a globally recognized leading expert on sepsis in children. The video was created to address the need for parents to be more educated about sepsis and its signs and symptoms.
Sepsis Alliance’s video KNOW SEPSIS™ Public Service Announcement (PSA) was awarded a Gold level award from MarCom last year.
