Tim Sweeney, MD, PhD, Joins Sepsis Alliance Board of Directors

Sepsis Alliance, the leading patient advocacy organization dedicated to saving lives and reducing suffering by improving sepsis awareness and care, is pleased to announce that Tim Sweeney, MD, PhD, has joined its Board of Directors.
Dr. Sweeney is cofounder and CEO of Inflammatix, a pioneer in decision-support diagnostics designed to identify critical illness earlier and improve sepsis and acute infection outcomes. He brings more than 20 years of experience working across the full spectrum of sepsis care and innovation, including clinical practice in general surgery and critical care, bench research, machine learning and artificial intelligence, and health policy and commercialization.

Dr. Sweeney is named on more than a dozen patents related to medical diagnostics and has authored over 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts and abstracts. His work has focused on translating immune-response science into technologies that reduce diagnostic uncertainty and enable earlier intervention in sepsis and acute infection.
