July - The Hidden Costs of Sepsis

Sepsis is not only one of the most deadly medical conditions, it is also one of the most costly. In July, we expose the hidden costs of sepsis: the billions spent in hospital care, the lives lost, the survivors left with long-term complications, and the strain on families and communities. Sepsis is the number one inpatient cost in U.S. hospitals, yet too often it remains overlooked in healthcare planning and funding decisions.

This month, we advocate for great recognition of sepsis as a public health priority, and for policies that will drive change, improve outcomes, and reduce the burden on our healthcare system and the people it serves.
