On June 2, 2019, I went to the ER because I was running a temperature of 102.5, and with everything else that had been going on I knew this couldn’t be good. The ER doctor, and the doctor on call, sent me home to finish the antibiotics I was on, after doing a CT scan and ruling out anything related to previous surgeries. I came back that night with a temp of 105.6!

They admitted me, did blood cultures, etc. anyway come to find out I had a fungus growing on my PICC line. (Sepsis and Fungal Infections) I didn’t know anything for about three days. Fortunately, I survived without any problems, but the fungus moved to my spine and I now have four abscesses on my spine. That are all the same fungus. I’ll take kidney stones any day over this.
