Teresa Juhl

Tribute

My Name is Paul Juhl, I lost my wife of 26 years in October. She was my best friend, my soulmate, my everything.

On Saturday she came home from work early said she wasn’t feeling well, she was going to lay down. We didn’t think anything about it we all had been sick that week. On Sunday her condition was worsening so I took to the hospital. And they took her straight back. Her oxygen was 71 and she was freezing but sweating. They placed her on a bi pap machine to try to improve her breathing.

They didn’t do any kind of tests. The nurses kept saying she had a drug overdose. Well that is impossible since she doesn’t do drugs. I told them that numerous time. I asked if they had giving her a drug test, which they hadn’t yet nor a covid test. Finally, after hours, they gave her a drug test which was negative as I told them.

So after 4 hours a different doctor came on duty. She looked at my wife’s charts and told me she had double pneumonia and her body had went septic. (Sepsis and Pneumonia) The doctor had started her on antibiotics, so after 4 and half hours they started antibiotics. As I know now sepsis is time sensitive and they started treatment too late. She went into septic shock and passed away. They brought her back 7 times but she couldn’t maintain a pulse.

I writing this in remembrance of my beautiful wife Teresa Juhl 08/03/76-10/25/21. You will forever be my always. I don’t know why all 50 states aren’t made to test for sepsis. How many lives could be saved if this was mandatory.
