Shakara Theirse

Survivor

The month of February has been one I will never forget! Feb 6th I was diagnosed with type A flu, Feb 21st I was diagnosed with type B flu, and on Feb 24th ,my life took and turn. I was rushed to the ER for trouble breathing and later found out I had sepsis from an unknown UTI!!! (Sepsis and Urinary Tract Infections)

I was clueless at the time on what sepsis was but doctors told me I wasn’t going to make if I didn’t get treated. I was admitted into the hospital for week. The month of March until this day June 20th I’ve had chronic joint pain and swelling. Lab results now show I’m positive for an autoimmune disease. It’s been rough dealing with all of this having not being able to work, closing my very own dance studio, having a 2-year-son and planning a wedding to marry the love of my life 10/21/17! I’m forever grateful for beating it and being an official survivor but in the meantime I want to make awareness.
