Survivor

Last year in 2018 I had surgery. Shortly there after almost a month later, I became ill. (Sepsis and Surgery) I couldn’t keep food down and I just felt different. I went to the emergency room. Once there, tests were run and everything appeared to be fine. The doctor was going to discharge me but decided to take my temperature again. Glad he did because I began running a fever that was spiking.

My surgeon was contacted and he ordered for me to be admitted for observation. Well it was discovered that I developed a hole in my stomach and fluid was collecting. It was decided to drain the fluid. I went in to surgery to have the fluid drained but I don’t remember much after that. I awoke later to.learn that I went into septic shock and my family was told I was 50/50. My organs were beginning to shut down. I spent days in ICU hooked up to I’m not sure.how.many machines. I recovered however maybe a month or 2 later I was back being treated again for sepsis. I’m here I’m alive and I’m grateful.
