Rosa Peña

Tribute

On October 14,2016 my mother, Rosa Peña, lost her life due to sepsis. She got sepsis after a surgery. (Sepsis and Surgery) She was immediately in the ICU and transferred to a nursing home for treatment. She got septic shock there and it lead to her being resuscitated twice and on life support. She was on life support for three weeks and fought off sepsis! While my mother was severely sick, she was a fighter and had fought this horrible illness.

However, sepsis and sepsis shock had already damaged all of her organs. Doctors couldn’t do anything about it and couldn’t find a solution to saving her life, so she died! I felt like once the doctors found out they gave up on my mother. Why? Perhaps because they need to take this matter in regards to sepsis much more serious.

I never knew about what sepsis was, how dangerous it was, I never knew my best friend and first love my mother would die from it😢…

Since then I’ve been more knowledgeable of it and finding a way to spread the word and try to do something about it. I feel I like need to do something about this in the honor of my beautiful mother who I miss dearly. I believe that sepsis needs to me advertise as much as cancer because this is a fast killing illness.
Thanks 🙏🏻
