Tribute

In 2014, my father woke up with severe shoulder pain-bad enough to drive himself to the emergency room. The doctors couldn’t find anything (they questioned pneumonia) and put him on antibiotics. They gave him Motrin for his shoulder pain and sent him home. After 4 days with no improvement, things became worse. He went to the ER where he was admitted right away-after 4 days, they found that he had endocarditis with subsequent osteomylitis. They also found that he was septic. With antibiotic treatment for 4 months, he was able to recover enough to undergo heart valve replacement surgery and return to the workplace a year and a half after becoming sick. (Sepsis and Bacterial Infections)

On May 13, 2018, my father woke up with fever and chills and ended up in the ER on May 14, where he was discovered to have septic shock, multiple organ failure, extremely low blood sugar, and was found out to have strep pneumobacteremia. From the sepsis, he went into DIC. (Sepsis and Desseminated Intravascular Coagulation) This resulted in a brain bleed, heart weakness, dry gangrene to his hands and feet, circulation problems, and other organ failure. After a battle of 3 weeks, he was unable to recover and passed. He was only 56 and we miss him SO much. We love you endlessly, Daddy!
