My Tribute to my Dear Sweet Mom,

In 2005 my mom had found out that she had bile duct cancer. We believe that she knew something was wrong with her but she never told anyone about how she was feeling. In July of 2005, she became very sick. That is when she was hospitalized and we found out the bad news.

She began her radiation treatments soon after that. She was a strong woman and never gave up despite how the treatments were effecting her: losing weight, loss of appetite. Then, on Sept. 17th, Saturday, I will never forget this day; we were all home with her and she began to shake and was very cold, so we rushed her up to her room because that is what she wanted and then we called 911. (Sepsis and Cancer)

They told us that she was very septic while in the ER. I never heard of that word before They did more tests and treated her the best that they could. She was then put into ICU for the next week – more tests, more medicine, blood transfusions but her body just couldn’t hold on.

On Sept. 24th, Saturday, another day that will live with me until I leave this earth, my dear sweet mom died. During the early morning, she had aspirated and was on an ventilator. Her body had begun to swell all over and she passed away at 7:10 that evening. We were all by her side, but we never got to say good-bye to her again nor could she get to say goodbye to her family either.

We miss her so very much each day that we live. There are thousands of deaths from this horrible disease and there are so many, many people that don’t know about this, so we need to get more information out there for all of us to be aware.
