Linda C.

Survivor

I went into the hospital for a procedure on my pancreas . I was fine until I went to sleep and aspirated into my lungs. Thank God a nurse heard me struggling to breath. I was rushed to ICU. I developed bacteria pneumonia. (Sepsis and Pneumonia)

I went into septic shock and was put on life support for a week. Abdominal abscesses and infections kept me in the hospital for 3 months. I lost all my hair from malnutrition. I came hope with a PICC line and drains. Home care nurses and my husband made it possible to return home to recuperate. I’m now living with memory loss, loss of kidney function, lung disease and severe neuropathy in my feet and fingertips. (Sepsis and Post-Sepsis Syndrome)  I am a 3-year bladder cancer survivor. This past week I got news my biopsy is positive so I start treatment next week. I thank God every day for my life.
