Grace Walden

Survivor

I was pregnant at 18 and delivered. I had trouble with UTIs all thru my pregnancy. (Sepsis and Urinary Tract Infections) After I delivered, I had a major headache. The nurse checked my temperature. It was 104.9. It climbed all the way up to 105.8.

At that point I started hallucinating. I heard the nurse tell my husband I might not make it. That night I fought for my life. The next day, the same thing happened. After the third day of fighting, they found out it was a UTI that spread to my kidneys and infected my blood. After fighting long and hard, I won the battle. I’m a sepsis survivor.
